A 21-year-old Lodge resident was yesterday killed in a heated argument with his mother’s husband’s grandson.
Carlos Solomon of 44 Princes Street, Lodge was stabbed multiple times about his body around 5:30pm yesterday after accusing his mother’s husband’s grandson of sending other men to beat him up.
His mother Kay Chester related that on Tuesday a group of young men went to their house in Princes Street with cutlasses and “ruff up” her son. She said yesterday around 5pm she heard Solomon and the suspect arguing on the road.
“I overheard my fellow grandson telling my son never to come back downstairs by him,” she said, noting that she occupied the upper flat of the building with her son while her reputed husband’s grandson resided in the bottom flat.
“After that I heard a big rumbling in the yard and then a girl hollering that he dead, he dead! I didn’t come out,” she said, adding that her son was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Chester stated further that the suspect went to the police station and made a report that her son attacked him so he had defend himself. “He mek the report when they were carrying Carlos to the hospital but the minute the girl call the station and tell the police that he dead, the boy try fuh run away and the police hold he,” she related.
The suspect was arrested at the Alberttown Police Station.
