The two men recently charged with impersonating policemen to stage a robbery at a roadblock they had set up at Mahaicony are likely to be charged today with two murders, according to a senior police official.
The official explained that the men who were arrested in a house at Diamond, East Bank Demerara last weekend were found in possession of a .32 pistol which was later subjected to ballistics tests. The official said that the tests confirmed a link to the execution of GGMC engineer Trevor Abrams in February and the killing of Sterling Products Limited security guard Wilfred Stewart back in December 2014.
Based on what the official said the ballistics test did not show any linkage to the recent execution of political activist Courtney Crum-Ewing four weeks ago.
The two suspects Rayon Paddy and Orin Arthur appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Monday slapped with a dozen charges between them inclusive of robbery under arms and unlawful possession of a firearm.
