Human Services and Social Security Minister Dr Jennifer Webster has tendered her resignation to President Donald Ramotar due to health reasons.
Cabinet Secretary Dr Roger Luncheon announced Webster’s resignation, which is effective from April 30th, at a news conference today. He said she cited the lack of significant improvement in her health as a result of her job.
Webster was absent from the PPP’s lists of candidates, which was presented to the Guyana Elections Commission on Tuesday, for the upcoming May 11th general elections. Webster previously served as Junior Finance Minister and Permanent Secretary in the Office of the President.
