Dear Editor,
The work of the police in Region 2 is severely hampered because of a shortage of vehicles.
When reports are made, especially at night, quick action cannot be taken because of the unavailability of a vehicle. While the division has a full complement of vehicles the big problem is that many of them are not in working condition.
Police drivers are culpable of the reckless and careless use of vehicles, which sometimes end up in crashes resulting in damage. There are times when ranks can be seen begging private vehicle owners to provide transportation to get to a crime scene.
Once vehicles become available, it will certainly help to bring about a better service in the district.
Yours faithfully,
Ronald Marks
