Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) and Transport Sports Club (TSC) will clash in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/Brainstreet Under-15 finals on Sunday after scoring convincing victories against their respective opponents, Malteenoes Sports Clubs (MSC) and Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO).
Yesterday at DCC, the host defeated archrival MSC by a mammoth 292 runs after a fine batting display by Ashmead Nedd, who scored his first double century at any level. At GYO, the visitors, TSC defeated the host by 74 runs.
DCC made 387 all out in 47.2 overs, compliments of Nedd who blasted 204 while Sachin Singh supported with 62. Leg spinner Wayne Bollers Jr. collected 3-63 and Jeremiah Scott 2-38 for MSC. In reply MSC was routed for 95 as Nedd returned with the ball to capture 3-22 while Jospice Jones and Brandon Jackman bagged two wickets each.
Meanwhile, TSC posted 251-5 in 48 overs, with Adrian Hinds (93) and Devon Allen (86) hitting half centuries as Mavindra Dindyal and Brandon Mathews picked up two wickets apiece. GYO replied with 177 all out in 36.5 overs. Chandra Mohan (44), Pradesh Balkishun (42) and Navindra Persaud (30) were the main scorers while Joel Prostea collected 5-41 for TSC.
