The Guyana Police Force has recorded a 6% increase in serious crime for the year up to the end of March, in comparison with the same period last year.
Serious crimes are murder, armed robbery, robbery with violence, robbery with aggravation, larceny from the person, break and enter and larceny, burglary, rape, and kidnapping.
Police, in a statement yesterday, announced that a total of 42 murders were recorded at the end of March, 2015, in comparison to 38 murders at the end of March 2014, representing an increase of 11%.
