A 15-year-old boy is now in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was stabbed several times about his body by an older youth yesterday at Eccles, East Bank Demerara.
Kester Yamster, 15, of Lot 110 Eccles Housing Scheme, was stabbed in his chest, abdomen and in an arm during an argument with a 21 year-old man at a street corner in the housing scheme.
The stabbing occurred at 6:30PM.
Yamster was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was being monitored up to last evening by doctors in Accident and Emergency Unit.
“Like that boy wring that knife in my son’s chest,” Kester’s mother, Michelle, cried last night. She stated that the man who did the stabbing escaped and left her son on the road.
A companion said he was standing at the corner with Yamster, who was on his bike, when he saw the assailant approaching them. “He circle we the first time and he didn’t have anything in his hand but he was watching Kester all the time,” the teen said.
The eyewitness stated that the young man walked pass them but returned with a knife in his hand. “He walked back watching Kester and Kester ask him why he watching him suh… ‘Like you want story with me?’” he said, relating that Yamster jumped off his bicycle and stood in front of the man. “And then he just start juk him up. We didn’t even know he was juking Kester until we see the blood,” he stated.
The eyewitness stated further that the two young men had an old grievance over a girl.
