The young man accused of stabbing a 15-year-old boy on Friday, at Eccles Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, has been arrested by the police.
Kester Yamster, of Lot 110 Eccles Housing Scheme, was stabbed in his chest, abdomen and in one of his arms after a confrontation with the 21-year-old man at a street corner in the housing scheme on Friday evening.
Yamster remains in a critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital. According to a relative of Yamster, his assailant was arrested by the police later on Friday night.
The relative also said Yamster has regained consciousness but his condition was still listed as critical.
A companion said he was standing at the corner with Yamster, who was on his bike, when he saw the assailant approaching them. The eyewitness stated that the young man walked past them but returned with a knife in his hand and the confrontation ensued. “…He just start juk him up. We didn’t even know he was juking Kester until we see the blood,” he stated.
The eyewitness stated further that the two had an old grievance over a girl.
