It is only the high-horse people that’s getting everything sweet. We are all Guyanese and everybody should be able to have a fair share. These people claiming that they giving land, but if you don’t have $1M or more, you not getting anything. And then they are going tell you that they care about you? I don’t think so. They only care about themselves and their friends.’

`Since this is election year, they have to do a lot of things to change the system. For too long we have been filled with stupidness. The education system needs propping up. Schools are being fixed, but what is the quality of the fixes? Do these schools have proper labs for children to use? Long ago people wrote six quality subjects and now they are doing 15 subjects and can’t get a job. They need to give people their dues, where dues are concerned. If a poor man can do a job, then they should give him based on his ability. Jobs should not be given to cronies and their friends. No wonder Guyana has one of the highest suicide rates.’

`I don’t think politicians should talk about the past so much. They should talk about things people want to hear, not 50 years ago and 60 years ago. Talk about what is happening now. The rich is getting richer and the poor is getting poorer. We need a big change, a real big change, the young people need jobs. The crime rate is too high. Children are dropping out of school and we have too much teenage pregnancy. How are they going to fix these problems? And on top of that the cost of living is too high.’

`I want them to address a lot of things. Young people got certificates, but can’t find a job. For a piece of land, you have to pay millions and you are a Guyanese, born right here. We have too much crime, look how they kill that nine year old boy, he’s a child. That mother must be asking herself, what have I done to deserve this? We really need a big change.’

`I would like the politicians to address a lot of issues. What are they going to do for the youths? They also need to talk about improving our living conditions and talk about how they are going to tackle unemployment. We need better health facilities, and better education facilities. Another big problem that needs to be addressed is domestic violence. And when the opposition gets into power, they should address these issues. So far the opposition have been speaking sense. And this nonsense that Jagdeo is getting on with, such as inciting racial tension and trying to stir up something between the two major races is not going to go far. Because the Indians cannot be fooled and I don’t think they’d be voting race.’

`I think domestic violence is a key issue that has to be addressed, but I can’t understand how you got Elisabeth Harper on stage with a man like Bharrat Jagdeo who has been accused of mistreating his wife. And plus she is next to a man like Anil Nandlall. People in this country have suffered a lot. In the Bible, David killed Goliath. That giant that used to trample on the people. And Moses led the people out of the wilderness. They will develop Guyana because they have things on their mind, like women, the amount of money people pay for house lot, crime, and they are also willing to talk with the people which is good because they have to listen to us.’

`The first thing that needs to be addressed is the line of education. I find that the teachers don’t pay much attention because their salaries is so low. They should raise the salaries of teachers and nurses because they are very important to our country’s development. Old age pension also needs to be addressed, and young people need jobs. In my area, you have a lot of young people and no jobs.’

They don’t think about what they are doing, they’d just listen to those in authority and that’s it. The police are not serving the people, they only care about the Government people.’
