Two men have been held after the police uncovered illegal weapons in two separate incidents.
According to a police press release, an unlicensed .32 pistol along with 17 rounds of live ammunition was uncovered at 4 Miles, Arakaka in the North West District.
The statement explained that the gun and ammunition were discovered late Sunday night while the police were conducting investigations into a report of threats. A man has since been held while police continue with their investigations into the crime.
Meanwhile, another man is currently in custody assisting police with their investigations after the police found him in possession of a Beretta pistol along with two rounds of ammunition. The items were discovered after ranks of a mobile police patrol conducted a search on his person on Monday at Main Street, New Amsterdam, Berbice.
