A Youth and Women Issues Forum which was scheduled to be held with the PPP/C Presidential and Prime Ministerial Candidates has been postponed until further notice. The postponement came as a result of the candidates signalling that they could not attend at the scheduled time. No new time has been set.
The forum which was organised by the Guyana National Youth Council with support from several other civil society groups was expected to be held last evening at the Theatre Guild in Kingston.
It was anticipated that President Donald Ramotar and Prime Ministerial Candidate Elisabeth Harper would’ve been present at the town hall-style meeting to clarify their party’s positions on issues of concern to the youth and women of Guyana.
The event was advertised as an opportunity for members of the public to hear from the Candidates their perspective and plans on the Youth and Women issues they care about.
A similar meeting was held on Monday last with representatives from the APNU+AFC Coalition. At this meeting Presidential Candidate David Granger and Coalition member Cathy Hughes answered questions and shared the policy of the coalition on the issues raised.
