The Guyana Defence Force ended their Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Championship campaign on a positive note drawing with Spirited, Attitude and Performance (SAP) FC of Antigua and Barbuda 2-2 in their final group matchup.
Suffering a 7-1 defeat to Trinidad and Tobago’s W-Connection in their opening match, the Guyanese unit battled valiantly to secure their first point of the tourney at the Ato Boldon Stadium. At the half time interval the score was locked at 1-1.
Upon the conclusion of the group stage, the emerging group winners will advance to the second round of the championship. The tourney’s final round which is set to commence May 20th-25th, will be played in a knockout format to select the champion.
The top three teams during that section will earn places in the prestigious CONCACAF Champions League.
