At about 0930h today, police say that Glendon Cadogon, 83 years, an overseas based Guyanese, was shot and injured during an armed robbery at Shirley Field-Ridley Square, Georgetown.
Investigations revealed that Cadogon had travelled from the CJIA and was confronted by three men, one of whom was armed with a firearm, who drove up in a motor vehicle as he was entering the yard.
The men held up Cadogon and demanded a bag that he had in his possession. He resisted and was shot to his abdomen and left arm. The perpetrators then escaped with the bag.
Cadogon has been admitted to hospital.
A woman has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
