Young Alicia Mc Pherson, who was found bloodied at a dance in Sophia early Sunday morning, was stabbed some 41 times her a post-mortem examination revealed yesterday morning.
The 18-year-old’s father Ankoma Powers told this newspaper that most of his daughter’s body bore stab wounds and he once again called for swift justice.
Police are still looking for her boyfriend of two years who was seen assaulting her before she was found clinging to life. She eventually took her last breath at the Georgetown Public Hospital. Her mother Denise Mc Pherson had told this newspaper that her daughter left their Lot 612 ‘D’ Field Sophia home just after midnight Sunday morning with a male friend to attend the dance being held in ‘B’ Field Sophia. She said the friend related that shortly after they arrived at the dance she received a call on her mobile phone from her boyfriend who turned up shortly after. The friend left the two and reports are that the boyfriend was seen assaulting the teenager. It was shortly thereafter that her bloodied body was found behind a toilet by a man who had gone to relieve himself.
Yesterday Powers said that he rang the boyfriend’s phone countless times but he is not answering. On Sunday, the young man had agreed to meet with the father but after changing the location on three occasions he said he was advised not to meet with Powers. The father had spoken about the young’s man abusive behaviour towards his daughter but she had denied it on each occasion.
