Alec Melville and Nyron Joseph secured group-A victories over Larissa and Akeila Wiltshire respectively when the Kraft Toucan Industries junior Skill Level tournament continued at the Georgetown Club on Friday.
Melville defeated Larissa Wiltshire in straight sets 12/10, 11/6 and 12/10 while Joseph dismissed Akeila Wiltshire also in straight sets 11/7, 11/6 and 11/5. In the group-B section, Shomari Wiltshire defeated Anthony Islam 11/3, 11/2 and 11/6 while Alexander Cheeks beat Daniel Islam 11/7, 16/14 and 11/4.
In the group-C category, Rebecca Lowe defeated Maya Collins 11/8, 11/7 and 11/3 while Makeda Harding downed Sarah Lewis 11/3, 11/3, 7/11 and 11/8.
Samuel Ince-Carvahal was the toast of group-D as he claimed wins over Lucas Jonas 11/6, 4/11, 10/12, 11/3 and 12/10 and Ethan Jonas 11/7, 11/9 and 12/10.
Also claiming wins in the section was Michael Alphonso who defeated Zachary Persaud 11/5, 11/7 and 11/6 and Demetrius DeAbreau who also downed Persaud 11/7, 11/6 and 11/7. Lucas Jonas in his other matchup overcame Dominic Collins 6/11, 11/8, 11/5 and 11/9.
In group-E, Jason Gomes defeated Kirsten Gomes 11/6, 5/11, 11/5 and 11/5 while Madison Fernandes dismissed Abosaide Cadogan 11/3, 11/2 and 11/2.
Gareth DaSilva beat Haley Carpenter 11/2, 11/3 and 11/8 while Nathan Rahaman defeated Aliyah Persaud 11/9, 11/6 and 11/8 in the group-F section.
In the group-G category, Chad DeAbreau dismantled Geovanna DoSantos 11/1 and 11/1 while Liam Carpenter defeated Teija Edwards 11/7 and 11/7 and Mohryan Baksh dismissed Beau Fernandes 11/5 and 11/2.
The group-H round of matches witnessed Isabella Ramjohn squeaking past Noah Rahaman 13/11 and 12/10 and Louis DaSilva needling Shiloh Asregado 16/14 and 17/15.
