Santos FC, Renaissance-A and Western Tigers secured comprehensive wins when the inaugural I-Net Communications sponsored Fruta Conquerors U13 Football League commenced Saturday at the Tucville ground. Santos FC defeated Fruta Conquerors-A by a 2-0 margin. Andre Hope opened the scoring in the 17th minute, slotting his effort into the back of the net after collecting a receiving a pass unchallenged within the box.
The result would then be sealed in the 22nd minute as Alonzo Liverpool scored, striking his shot past the goalkeeper down the middle of the goal from within the right side of the penalty area. Meanwhile Western Tigers dismantled Renaissance-B by a 4-1 margin.
Ryan James the assault for the West Ruimveldt side with a hat-trick while Raymond Austin completed the win with a solo effort. Similarly, Renaissance-A downed Riddim Squad by a 2-0 score line. Bevney Mark led the way with a double in the 27th and 29th minutes.
In other results, Sunburst Camptown defeated Pele FC via walkover while Fruta Conquerors and Beacons FC battled to a 0-0 stalemate. The final matchup of the day saw Black Pearl FC and Order and Discipline FC playing a 0-0 draw.
Meanwhile, tournament hosts Fruta Conquerors, Renaissance-A and Santos FC were amongst the winners on the second day of the inaugural I-Net Communications u-13 Football League yesterday at the Tucville Community ground.
It was a vintage performance from the home side as they secured the largest margin of victory to date in the championship, crushing Black Pearl by a 6-0 score line to stay unbeaten. Jermaine Garrett started the assault in the ninth minute, turning his marker within the left side of the box, before unleashing a powerful left footed shot into the lower right corner.
Leroy Sealey-Yaw would then make it 2-0 two minutes onward, finishing down the middle of the net after collecting a left sided pass within the centre of the box, following a four pass combination during a counterattack.
The score line would continue to expand as Nickoloi Andrews netted in the 16th minute, slotting home past the keeper into the centre of the net , after an initial strike came off the left post and fell into his path.
Kamacy Davis would then etch his name on the scorerโs sheet one minute later, stabbing his effort into the net from within the box, after a powerful right sided Andrews shot was parried into his direction by the keeper.
An own goal in the 19th minute would then make it 5-0 as a defender inadvertently directed the ball into the right corner in his attempt to clear the danger.
The result would then be completed in the 36th minute as goalkeeper Tyrese Gouveia scored, finishing his powerful penalty kick attempt into the left hand corner, following a handball infringement inside the box.
Similarly maintaining their unbeaten record was Renaissance-A who defeated arch-rivals Western Tigers 1-0. Bevney McGarrell scored in the 19th minute, lashing his effort into the far corner after receiving a back heeled pass within the penalty box. ย Also continuing their undefeated run was Santos FC who crushed Riddim Squad 3-0. Darren Nyles led the way with a double in the 12th and 16th minutes while Fabian Boters netted in the 13th minute.
Fruta Conquerors-A secured their first win of the tourney, defeating Renaissance-B 2-0. Prince Brown opened the scoring the in the 17th minute, finishing into the back of the net after his initial strike struck the woodwork and fell fortuitously into his path.
Akeemo Marques would then complete the result in the 34th minute compliments of penalty kick conversion, following an infraction within the area.
In other results, Beacons FC edged Sunburst Camptown 1-0 compliments of a James Freeman effort while Order and Discipline secured a walkover victory against Pele FC. Action in the tourney is slated to continue at the same venue on Saturday and Sunday.
