Amelia’s Ward copped the individual first and third prizes at the 2015 Linden Primary Schools Spelling Bee Competition, which was held at LICHAS yesterday.
Denzil Yaw defeated his schoolmate Shanae Nicholson and Talitha Caesar of the Christianburg Primary School, who took third and second place, respectively when the threesome met in a head to head clash to determine the overall winner. Over 20 pupils from Linden primary schools participated in the Spelling Bee competition, which is one of two educational activities that are being held as part of the Linden Town Week 2015. In thanking all those, who participated in the competition, President of the Linden Fund USA Keith Semple noted that the overall winner is a male and he declared that it is good to see a young man emerging the champion in an educational contest in this time when women seem to dominate such activities.
