A police team has been dispatched to Kimbia, Berbice River to investigate a report of the sighting of a decomposing body and up to press time the ranks had not returned to the city.
Commander Calvin Brutus who has responsibility for the Kimbia area said that it was the Toshao who contacted police on Sunday saying that an individual with wounds to his body was discovered in the community and that the body had already started to decompose.
Brutus told Stabroek News that the ranks who were dispatched were still in the area and he was awaiting their return for more information. The identity of the man is unclear and there is no information presently on the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
