HPS and Cabinet Secretary Dr Roger Luncheon announced that Cabinet has greenlighted several contracts valued $409 million across four sectors.
According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) report, Luncheon said no objections were offered to $200 million contract in the agriculture sector for the supply of fuel and lubricants to the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority (NDIA).
A contract valued $99.5 million was also greenlighted for the procurement of HF radios for communications for the Guyana Elections Commission. Additionally, a contract for the Guyana Water Incorporated valued $25.8 million was okayed for the supply and delivery of motor control centres for the 60-cycle upgrade at the Shelter Belt. In the education sector, a contract valued $83.7 million was greenlighted for the purchase of laptops for the Guyana Improving Teacher Education Programme.
