On Saturday, All Greys and the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) battled to a 2-2 draw in the men’s second division league when the John Fernandes Insurance and the inaugural Woodpecker Products ladies league officially commenced at the St. Stanislaus College ground last Saturday.
Damon Woodroffe and Timothy Jonas scored for All Greys in the 21st and 28th minutes while Leonard George netted for the Bourda side in the 36th and 53rd minutes.
In the second matchup of the division, Hikers crushed Old Fort 6-0.
On Sunday in the opening match of the inaugural ladies league, Hikers downed Old Fort 2-0 with Nicole Eastman and Maria Munroe netting for the winners.
In the earlier men’s matchup in the second division league, Hikers defeated GCC 5-1 while Saints crushed Old Fort by a similar score line.
The action continues tomorrow at the same venue with a doubleheader. In the opening match at 14:30hrs, Saints will face off against Old Fort while Hikers will tackle Saints from 16:00hrs.
On Saturday at the same venue, All Grey’s will oppose Old Fort from 14:30hrs while Hikers will lock horns with Saints from 16:00hrs. On Sunday, GCC will lock horns with Saints at 14:30hrs and All Greys will match skills with Hikers from 16:00hrs.
