The Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) has shortlisted several squads to prepare for possible participation at three major championships.
According to a release from the GTTA it is looking to send representative teams to the Caribbean Pre Cadet Championships in Barbados from June 2-9, the Puerto Rico World Junior and Cadet Open ITTF Junior Circuit Event (June 19-21) and Latin American Table tennis Championships (June 23rd – 29th) and the Caribbean Senior Table Tennis Championships scheduled for the 2nd -9th July 2015 in Martinique.
The association is also looking at sending players to participate in the Silver Bowl Open in Trinidad and Tobago from May 9th-11th.
Missing from the men’s team are top players Christopher Franklin and Paul David while former Caribbean girls singles champion Michelle John is recalled to the women’s squad after an absence of several years.
Players shortlisted for the Caribbean pre-cadet tournament in Barbados are :-boys 11 years and under, Kaysan Ninvalle, Colin Wong, Kristian Sahadeo, Baoxiana Liu, Dhanesh Persaud, Christopher Shepherd, Aaron Persaud, Paul Bess and Alexander De Abreu.
Girls 11 years and under Cieara Sukhu, Thuraia Thomas and Chelsea Hutson.
Boys 13 years and under: – Tyriq Saunders, Jonathan Findlay, Niron Bissu, Shakiel Lewis, Jamal Nicholas and Yeudister Persaud.
Girls 13 years and under: – Neveah Clarkston, Selenas Jackman and Abigail Martin.
