Herstelling Raiders led by a Shoran James hat-trick, dismantled Kuru-Kururu Warriors 4-0 when the inaugural East Bank Football Association Lens Craft Optical u-13 league continued yesterday at the Grove Community ground.
James opened the scoring in the 19th minute, placing his effort past the Warriors custodian into the lower left hand side of the net, from within the penalty area.
He would then make it 2-0 two minutes onward, this time finishing his right footed attempt into the lower right side of the net from just inside the top of the box.
His hat-trick would then be completed compliments of a 31st minute attempt. Receiving the ball within the left side of the penalty box, the tricky forward would slot his right footed effort into the lower left corner.
The Warriors would then be given a chance to get back into the matchup as they were awarded a penalty kick in the 41st minute following a foul inside the box. Kuru-Kururu however would fail to capitalize on the spot-kick as the kicker struck a tame effort straight at the keeper.
Herstelling would then make the Warriors pay for their earlier failure as Elijah Crawford sealed the win in the 55th minute, volleying a first time right footed shot into the net from within the centre of the six yard area, after latching onto a cross from the left side of the field
Similarly sealing a win was Agricola Red Triangle who crushed Mocha Champs by a 6-1 score line in the opening matchup of the day.
Leon Moore led the assault with a hat-trick in the seventh, 15th and 36th minutes while Kurwayne Anthony, Christopher Adams and Shamar Hicks netted in the 26th, 57th and 58th minutes respectively. Scoring for the loser in the 30th minute was Eon Mars.
The final match of the day witnessed home side Grove Hi-Tech defeating Diamond United by a 3-0 score. Rasheed Evans led the way with a double in the 44th and 50th minutes while Jamallo Benjamin opened the scoring in the 40th minute.
