One month after gunmen shot Linden businesswoman, Shevon Gordon dead during an armed robbery, police have arrested three suspects.
Police said in a press release yesterday that the trio was arrested sometime during Tuesday. It is unclear what led to the arrests.
The release said that the men are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
On the evening of April 3, the 44-year-old beverage vendor known to many as `Lizzie’ and her husband arrived at their One Mile home.
As she disembarked from her canter two men approached her and demanded the plastic bag with cash that she was carrying. One of the men fired two rounds in the air while Lizzie struggled with the other.
According to reports, she was shot while struggling to maintain possession of the bag.
The woman’s husband and her 23-year-old son Devon pursued the bandits. Devon managed to catch up with the men and a scuffle ensued, during which he was shot to his left thigh. The men then escaped with the money.
The injured mother and son were taken to the Mackenzie Hospital, where Gordon was pronounced dead on arrival.
