Archrivals, Demerara Cricket Club and Malteenoes Sports Club will battle for quarterfinals berth in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/ Noble House Seafoods second division two-day tournament today.
The clash between the two teams will get underway from 11:00 am at the DCC ground in Queenstown. The host has to win outright to move on to the next round while the visitors need a draw to finish atop of the group.
DCC currently has one win from two games while MSC has two wins from as many matches. The visiting team will comprise of a mixture of former national youth players and experienced players; while DCC has a barrage of national and budding national youth players, many of whom have dominated GCA’s second division tournament in the recent past.
In other second division fixtures, Georgetown Cricket Club will host Sophia Cricket Club and Guyana National Industrial Corporation will play Ace Warriors at Gandhi Youth Organisation ground.
Meanwhile in the GCA/ Carib Beer first division T20 tournament, DCC will play UG at GCC today from 1.30 pm, GYO will face GCC at Everest from today at the same time while tomorrow GYO will play UG at Everest.
