Quincy Lacon aka “Ego” who won the first ever Linden Soca Monarch on February 28 of this year is having a hard time collecting his winnings.
The “Party Hard” singer and songwriter was thrilled when it was announced that he won the Linden Soca Monarch title which offered a prize of $150,000 along with a trophy. He has been waiting for over 2 months for his prize.
The competition was run off by Venom Entertainment and Divine Entertainment and the contract, according to Quincy, stated that the prize-giving presentation was to be held within 3 days to one week.
However he and his management, Ssignal Productions have made numerous calls to Divine Entertainment headed by Devin Sears to no avail. The presentation was postponed from March 7 to March 14 then to March 28 and eventually to April during the Linden Town Week. According to Quincy, he was told that this was to maximise publicity.
Two weeks have passed since Linden Town Week ended and he is still to collect his prize.
The latest he has heard is that the presentation is on this weekend. This was communicated to Charmaine Blackman by Sears via phone.
The upset singer said he hopes this will be done.
