91 year old Agnes Arno of Queenstown just after voting this morning at the St Gabriel’s Primary School. She said she had to come out and make her vote count and that she has been waiting for this day for months. Now that she has cast her vote she will return home and wait for the results. She has voted for years and this year was not going to be different. A neighbour, she said, woke her up very early and brought her out. At St Gabriel’s APNU member Keith Scott told polling officials that they should remove huge photographs of President Donald Ramotar, Prime Minister Samuel Hinds and Education Minister Priya Manickchand from the walls of at least one polling station which is a classroom on a normal school day. A poster with all former government ministers was also removed. Observers from the OAS were also present at this polling station. (Oluatoyin Alleyne photo)
