Two days after Nigel Isaacs was shot to his head and succumbed at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) by a man who had fired at another outside Palm Court, on Main Street, family members said they are still trying to find out the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Speaking to this newspaper yesterday, Nigel (only name given), the eldest son of the dead man, said his father death was a shock to the family. He said also that since the incident occurred the family has been hearing all sorts of different stories about what had really occurred.
Isaacs, 39, of Guyhoc Gardens, was rushed to the hospital Sunday morning and died hours after he was placed on a life support machine in an unconscious state. He was said to have been brain dead on admission.
According to a police press release, about 25 minutes after midnight on Sunday the driver of HB 4024 accidentally collided with motor car PPP 7994 that was parked on Main Street. A licensed firearm holder who was in the vicinity confronted the driver and discharged several rounds in his direction during which the shooter missed the driver and struck Isaacs to his head.
The shooter has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations. Stabroek News was told that the shooter was Isaacs’s friend.
