Swearing in of Granger expected today

Five days after hundreds of thousands voted in general elections, the Guyana Elections Commission (Gecom) is expected to this afternoon to sanctify the official results, allowing for the swearing in of David Granger as the new President.

Ramotar still not conceding polls

President Donald Ramotar last night declared that he was not conceding Monday’s elections even though the Elections Commission Chairman said 21 Statements of Poll (SoPs) cited by the PPP/C as defective showed no errors when they were checked.
