Eleven persons are feared dead and several others were injured after a huge mining cave-in at Mowsie Creek, Region 8 this afternoon.
According to information received by Stabroek News, the cave in occurred at approximately 3.30 pm. A rescue team has been dispatched to the area. Pit collapses have been a frequent occurrence in the mining industry.
