Courts Guyana Inc. donated a fridge and a stove yesterday to domestic abuse survivor Tamika Miller, who had lost her previous home to a fire.
Courts partnered with Habitat for Humanity to assist Miller, who was stabbed some 27 times about her body by her husband Andrew Patterson, who killed himself later.
Miller’s plight had attracted the eyes of Habitat for Humanity and it decided to renovate Millers’ home but it was later destroyed by a fire.
In response, Habitat for Humanity went on and partnered with Scotiabank, Courts, Demerara Bank, Qualfon and Edward B Beharry & Company to build Miller a new home. Miller’s new home was finished in March this year and Courts decided to assist her with furnishing the home and donated a fridge and stove. The emotional Miller ex-pressed her gratitude towards Habitat for Humanity and all the other sponsors that were involved in the rebuilding of her new home and also to Courts for assisting her in furnishing her house.
Additionally, Courts presented two customers with $1,000,000 worth in prizes after its Mabe promotion came to an end.
