A woman was yesterday nabbed at the Ogle International Airport as she attempted to smuggle over a kilogramme of cocaine that was strapped to her body out of Guyana.
According to a reliable source, the woman was caught with approximately 1.5 kilograms of cocaine strapped to her body. Police later confirmed the interception by ranks of the Narcotics Branch as well as the amount.
The discovery was reportedly made around noon yesterday after officers noticed the woman acting in a suspicious manner while she was at the airport.
A search was conducted and the cocaine was found strapped to her body.
The woman was said to be an outgoing passenger aboard a LIAT flight destined for Barbados.
However, instead of Barbados, she will be making a court appearance at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court today.
