The Sanatan Vaidic Dharma Pandits’ Sabha, Region 3, takes this opportunity to congratulate the APNU+AFC Coalition on its historic victory at the May 11 election.
The leaders of this coalition – President Granger, Prime Minister Nagamootoo, Messrs Ramjattan, Trotman, Hughes, Bulkan and others, appear to be persons of integrity, who are genuine and sincere in their commitment to move Guyana forward. We believe they have the vision and capability of doing so. In this regard, they will need all the support of the nation. We, as well as the larger Hindu community, are prepared to do our part.
This nation has been bleeding for far too long. It is time for healing. Let it begin now.
We take note that the President, in his opening address, invoked God. This bodes well for Guyana. We share with you this Prayer of Tagore.
This is our prayer to Thee, O Lord!
Strike! Strike at the root of penury in our hearts;
Give us the strength to bear our joys and our sorrows;
Give us the strength to rise high above daily trifles;
Give us the strength to be fruitful in service to our fellow man;
Give us the strength never to bend our knees before insolent might;
And give us the strength to surrender our strength to Thy Will, with love.
