The Guyana-China Business Council has raised $5.5M for the ongoing clean-up work around Georgetown and its environs, a release from the council said today.
Chairman of the Council, Clinton Williams said a number of companies have come on-board.
In this regard, the release said that China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) yesterday donated $1M to assist in the clean-up activities.
Several other Chinese companies have made contributions totalling $4.5M.
