Angelique Williams, who is accused of viciously stabbing her friend to death during an argument, was yesterday remanded to prison after she was charged with murder.
The indictable charge against Williams was read at the Vreed-en Hoop Magistrate’s Court.
The allegation is that on May 21, 2015, at the Aracari Resort, at Versailles, West Bank Demerara, Williams murdered Lloyda Renita Thomas.
Thomas, 20, a mother of a one-year-old daughter and who was also pregnant at the time of her demise, was stabbed multiple times about her body during an altercation which ensued during the course of an outing at the resort.
The injured woman, who reportedly sustained about 20 stab wounds, was afterward taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Williams, who was unrepresented at yesterday’s hearing, was refused bail and remanded to prison until July 1.
