A Brazilian national was yesterday remanded to prison on an attempted murder charge.
It is alleged that on May 27th, 2015, at Black Water Backdam, Cuyuni River, Ivan Nascimento De Costa wounded Rondell Wellington with intent to murder him.
De Costa was not required to plead to the indictable charge, which was read to him by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court 1.
The unrepresented man was remanded to prison until June 15th, when the case will be called at the Kamarang Magistrate’s Court.
