Dear Editor,
I was rescued from human trafficking by the Guyana Women Miners Organisation (GWMO) in the year 2013. Since then I was given the hope to live and become someone in life, but after some time of being in the system that hope began to die. Nevertheless, the members of the GWMO maintained a good relationship with me, especially the president Mrs Simona Broomes, who has always been a tower of strength in my darkest times.
Today with tears in my eyes and my heart so filled with joy, all I can say is there is a God and he knows our pains and hears our cries. Congratulations to my mother, sister, friend and now my Minister, Simona Broomes. I no longer have that feeling of death, but all I feel, want and aspire to, is to become a policewoman to work or assist my minister to enforce the laws and fight against human trafficking.
Congratulations once more Minister Simona Broomes.
Yours faithfully,
