Dear Editor,
Just when we had hoped that there would be some sanity being brought to the West Indies Cricket Board and the selectors, we see them making a monumental blunder by dropping Shivnarine Chanderpaul.
As a cricket fan and a Guyanese this stupidity must be condemned, and on behalf of patriots and cricket lovers in the region, I demand that the selectors reverse their decision to allow West Indies cricket to exhale.
It is unnecessary for me to catalogue the virtues of Shivnarine and the fact that his very presence in the team inspires us and young cricketers, seems to have eluded those who dropped him from our team.
This sad day for cricket must be corrected, and I ask journalists and fans in the Region to raise their voices, to ask the selectors to be more responsible.
