A serving member of the Guyana Police Force was released on his own recognisance after pleading not guilty to a charge of receiving a car he knew to be stolen property.
Collis Burnette, 24, was charged with receiving a Toyota Primo car, valued $3.5 million, from Mohan McAllister, knowing it to be stolen. The car was the property of Deopersaud Persaud.
Burnette, a Fort Ordnance resident and father of two, is expected to return to court on June 13.
