The investigation into the execution-style murder of mechanic Terrence Lanferman, who was shot dead in his home at Mocha, East Bank Demerara, is ongoing, police said yesterday.
Lanferman, 23, of Lot 127 Nelson Street, Mocha, was shot to his neck and chest around 7:30 PM on Monday. At the time, he was the lone occupant of the bottom-flat of the two-storey house, where he resided with his mother.
In a statement issued yesterday, police said Lanferman’s assailant entered and shot him to his body and escaped.
He was taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
It is unclear if anyone has been held in connection with the murder and efforts to speak to the police proved futile. The dead man’s mother also refused to speak with the media yesterday.
A post-mortem examination is to be performed today on Lanferman’s body.
