Magistrate Sunil Scarce granted two women accused of using threatening language and behaviour $10, 000 bail each, when they recently appeared in the Charity Magistrate’s Court.
The court heard that on May 28 at Westbury, 49-year-old housewife Sharon Johnson and 47-year-old Tessa Grant both of the same village, had a verbal altercation. Johnson allegedly had a cutlass and she threatened to “chop up” Grant.
When the magistrate asked Johnson if the information read to the court was true, she denied it and alleged that it was Grant who threatened to physically harm her.
Later, Grant adamantly refuted those claims and provided her version of the sequence of events, starting all the way back in 1983.
Both women appeared unrepresented in court, pleaded guilty to the charge but after listening to their explanations, a not guilty plea was recorded.
The women were then granted bail and were ordered to return to court on June 15.
