Four persons including a Police Constable and two females are currently in police custody in relation to the discovery of an AK-47 rifle and 32 rounds.
The police said in a press release that the discovery was made by ranks on Friday at the Mahaica Public Road, East Coast Demerara where a search was conducted on the motor vehicle which was occupied by the four persons.
They have since been arrested and are in police custody assisting with investigations.
