An East La Penitence man was yesterday refused bail after being charged with attempted murder.
Eon Archibald, of Lot 91 East La Penitence, Georgetown, was remanded to prison yesterday after appearing before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court 1.
It is alleged that on June 4, at d’Urban Street, with intent to commit murder, Archibald wounded Dwayne Morris.
The unrepresented miner was not required to plead to the charge.
No details were presented in relation to the charge but in objecting to bail Prosecutor Bharat Mangru noted that Morris is still hospitalised at the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he is nursing chop wounds to his left side rib and his right hand. Mangru said too that one of Morris’ kidneys is also damaged due to the incident.
Bail was refused and the case was adjourned until June 22.
