A pensioner was yesterday charged with the rape of a child who is under the age of 16, when he appeared before Magistrate Charlyn Artiga in the Number 51 Magistrate’s Court.
Winston Benn, 64, of Lot 28 J, Limlair Village, Corentyne is accused of raping a 14-year-old girl between October 1 and 31, 2013. The father of two was not required to plead to the indictable charge and was remanded until June 11.
He will make his second appearance at the Whim Magistrate’s Court for report.
