Andre Gomez, who was charged with killing a bystander while firing at another person during an altercation outside Palm Court last month, has been freed.
When Gomez made his second appearance before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court 1 yesterday, Prosecutor Bharat Mangru made an application to have the charge withdrawn. He stated that the application was based on the advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). The court, in addition to this, heard that there was not enough evidence in relation to the matter.
