Georgetown Mayor Hamilton Green has scheduled a meeting with the Chinese business owners operating in the city for this Friday.
According to a press release from the Mayor and City Council (M&CC), the meeting’s purpose is to explain what the council is attempting to do to make Georgetown a better place and the role of the business owners in the effort.
The release said the council anticipates “full participation” from the Chinese operating in Georgetown. It noted that over the last few years there has been an upsurge of businesses owned by Chinese nationals in the capital, where many are renting spaces and doing a variety of businesses in the commercial centres.
The meeting follows on the heels of a stakeholders’ meeting the Mayor had with the representatives of corporations, businesses, government and other agencies, community development groups and others last Friday, the M&CC noted.
