A man was on Tuesday remanded to prison after being accused of break and enter and larceny.
When Arvin Bacchus, 26, appeared before city magistrate Annette Singh he pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stated that on June 6th, at Lot 102 Middle Road, La Penitence, Georgetown, he broke and entered the dwelling house of Tyson Kangasammy and stole a quantity of items, including a portable DVD player and 17 compact discs, valued $6,900.
No further details were presented about the charge but the prosecution objected to bail based on the seriousness of the offence.
The unrepresented defendant was subsequently refused bail and the case was adjourned to June 23rd.
