Tucville Secondary School players Calvin Peters and Orwyn Garraway each scored a brace to give their school a convincing 7-1 victory over David Rose Secondary yesterday during the second day of competition in the Digicel Secondary Schools Championship 2015 at the Fruta Conquerors ground in Tucville.
Peters scored in the 34th and 66th minute while the petite but skilful Garraway registered his double in the 43rd and 68th minute, as their school got off to the ideal start in the fifth edition of the tournament.
Jermaine Garnette, Marcus Wilson and Sherwin Reid were the other goal scorers for the winners while the very talented Adrian Wong was the lone scorer for David Rose.
In the sixth minute, Tucville took the lead as Garnette powerfully struck the ball past David Rose’s goalkeeper. Wong scored the equalizer for the losing side in the 20th minute, but from there onwards it was a lopsided game in favour of Tucville as the result showed.
Wilson scored Tucville’s second goal in the 39th minute as his team regained the lead just before the close of the first half. At the break, the scores read 2-1 in favour of Tucville.
In the second half, Tucville managed to dominate scoring five goals in the process. Meanwhile, David Rose’s only scoring chance during the last half came from a penalty opportunity but the shot taken by Wong sailed harmlessly over the top bar.
