Ravi Outar, the former policeman who was shot by a lone gunman last Wednesday succumbed to his injuries yesterday afternoon.
Outar of 143 Second Street, Rose Hall Town, was reportedly shot five times about his body after a gunman opened fire on him as he sat outside his home. He was subsequently rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital by residents and later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he died sometime after 2 pm yesterday.
His wife Meshell Outar had reportedly told investigators that she heard several explosions suspected to be gunshots and saw a man walk out the street and jump into a waiting car.
The incident had occurred sometime after 8.35 pm as the businessman sat in front of the pool hall and bar that his wife operates.
Ralvin Mc Lean, a Jamaican, was later pointed out by Outar and was charged with attempted murder and placed on remand after making an appearance at the Albion Magistrate’s Court.
According to reports, Mc Lean and Outar were known to each other.
Attempts to contact relatives of Outar proved futile, while Mc Lean is expected to make his next court appearance on June 29.
