(Barbados Nation) America’s Carl Lewis, one of the greatest athletes of all time, is arriving here next month.
He will conduct a clinic on July 8 and deliver a motivational speech at the Wildey Gymnasium on July 9.
Lewis, competing between 1979 and 1996, won ten Olympic medals including nine gold and ten World Championship medals, with eight being gold.
He dominated the 100 and 200 metres and the long jump during his era.
At the 1984 Olympics, Lewis won the 100, 200, long jump and led the Americans to gold in the 4×100 metre relay. Only he and Jesse Owens (1936) have achieved that stupendous feat.
