A Caneville, East Bank Demerara teen was yesterday afternoon intercepted with drugs strapped to her body as she was preparing to board a LIAT flight to Barbados.
A police source told Stabroek News that the 19 year old was observed by narcotics ranks at the Ogle Airport acting in a suspicious manner and was singled out for a search. It was then that a waistband containing at least 800 grams of cocaine was found strapped to her body.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum when contacted confirmed the arrest and said that the teen is in custody assisting with investigations.
